Arsenal are getting closer and closer to becoming a genuine Premiership contender again.
That is the sentiment of Phil Neville who watched Arsene Wenger's side dismantle Hull City in the first half on Monday night to win 3-1 at the KC Stadium.
The Gunners are now every chance of finishing second behind champions Chelsea and ahead of reigning premiers Manchester City and ex-Everton and United man Neville feels that progression can put them in a strong position to push Jose Mourinho's Blues all the way next term.
"I think it's vital Arsenal finish second. Even though it probably means nothing and it's not a position you should be proud of, for the first time they are showing signs of progression," Neville said on BBC Radio 5 live.
"Of all the sides in the top four, apart from Chelsea, I think they are the best equipped to challenge next year."
