Arsenal are considering a shock raid on Liverpool for defender Martin Skrtel.

The Daily Star Sunday says Arsenal, Tottenham and a host of other top clubs have been put on red alert after it emerged Skrtel is considering his Anfield future.

And one of the first tasks awaiting the Merseyside club's new manager will be to tackle the Skrtel issue.

The Slovakia star wants to be involved in the Champions League but the Anfield club, which last week sacked manager Kenny Dalglish, were nowhere near qualifying last season.

But with two years remaining on his contract, Skrtel, 27, can't just quit the Kop.
