Arsenal have opened talks with Catania for young fullback Gino Peruzzi.
The Daily Star says according to reports coming out of Italy the 22 year old Argentine is wanted by manager Arsene Wenger as cover for new boy Mathieu Debuchy next season.
He moved to Catania from Velez Sarsfield for £2.5m last summer but was unable to help the Sicilians avoid relegation.
Peruzzi made 21 league appearances last season, has been capped 4 times by Argentina and looks set to have a bright future as a right back.
