Arsenal have offered Andrey Arshavin a free transfer. The Telegraph says Arsenal are understood to have offered Arshavin a free transfer in the hope that he will finally find a new club before the Russian transfer window closes on Thursday.

It's understood that neither Zenit St Petersburg - his former club where he went on loan last season - nor cash-rich Anzhi Makhachkala are interested in signing the former Russia captain whose stock has plummeted dramatically both with club and country.
