Arsenal need to sign a player like Santi Cazola says Parlour

Arsenal will attempt to sign a midfielder in the mould of Santi Cazola this summer, according to club legend-turned-pundit Ray Parlour.

Cazola has been out of action since October after sustaining an Achilles injury, which is also set to keep him on the sidelines for at least the next few months.

And Parlour believes it is vital to find another player to replace the accurate passing provided by the diminutive Spaniard.

"He's been struggling with his Achilles, they really missed him last season," Parlour said on talkSPORT.

"I'm sure that Arsenal would be looking into the market to try and attract a player of his quality. It's very hard to find, he's a superb player.

"If you could get Cazorla at 23-years-old now, that's the sort of player they need, who can open doors up for you.

"I think the midfield at the moment, I think (Granit) Xhaka had a good end to the season as well, but they are very similar sorts of player.

"(Mohamed) Elneny, (Francis) Coquelin, they need that little bit of creativity to get through the lines.

"To make sure if (Mesut) Ozil stays to get him on the ball a little bit more and get (Alexis) Sanchez on the ball a little bit more.

"That's the sort of player they need in the transfer window coming up."
