Arsenal midfielder Partey won't hear criticism of Xhaka: A great player

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey won't hear criticism of Granit Xhaka ahead of their Europa League clash with Olympiakos.

Partey defended fellow midfielder Xhaka for his blunder for Burnley's equaliser in the Gunners' 1-1 draw at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Swiss played a stray ball which hit Chris Wood and flew into an empty net as the Gunners once again wasted the chance to close the gap on sides currently sat in the European places.

But Partey praised his hardworking team-mate, and insists the players will continue to fight to help raise each others standards.

"I think he's a great player," he said. "We all know he works hard for the club he works hard for the mates when he's on the pitch.

"As we all know in football you never know when you are going to have a bad game and it's part of it.

"We have to keep raising each other keep, fighting for each other and that's how we are going to have a good game and win matches."
