Arsenal manager Emery: 'I prefer to win 5-4 than 1-0'

Unai Emery has told Arsenal fans to expect attacking football during his reign at the Emirates.

The Spaniard was named as Arsene Wenger's successor yesterday and has previously managed the likes of PSG, Sevilla and Valencia. In his 608 competitive matches, Emery sides have scored 1172 times.

Some Gooners have been concerned that Wenger's legacy of possession-based attacking football would die after his departure. But when asked how his Arsenal team would play, Emery replied: "With personality. This personality for all the minutes of a match: protagonists.

"I like possession with the ball, I like good pressing against the other team.

"I prefer to win 5-4 than win 1-0."
