William Carvalho has made it trickier for Premier League clubs to sign him by penning a new contract with Sporting Lisbon.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has been heavily linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool in recent times but it appears as though he is set to remain in Portugal for the at least the next four or so years.
Carvalho has signed a deal, which comes with a £35million buyout clause, and will tie him to the Estadio Jose Alvalade until the summer of 2020.
"I am very happy for the vote of confidence that Sporting CP have given me once more," 15-time Portugal international Carvalho told the club's official website.
"Sportinguistas, I say to you that I am very happy with the deal which I signed up to 2020 and that you will have total effort on my part to be champions."
