Arsenal have tabled an £8 million bid for Lorient defender Laurent Koscielny.

The Sun says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has given Koscielny's club Lorient a deadline until Thursday to give a response after an initial £6m offer was rejected.

Wenger wants to conclude a deal before flying to the World Cup finals this week.

Koscielny, 24, has all but agreed a four-year deal and is desperate for the two clubs to do business.
