Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is targeting Fiorentina wing-back Juan Manuel Vargas.
La Nazione says Arsenal have already made contact with Fiorentina about Vargas' availability and a January move could be on.
Vargas can play at fullback and in midfield.
The wing-back has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona in the past.
