Arsenal legend Ian Wright says Spain's world champs have shown England how to handle pressure.
In his column for The Sun, Wright wrote: "They showed how to play under pressure at a major tournament, which is something the England boys clearly need to learn.
"We were poor at these finals. An embarrassment even.
"Our big stars, who wow us and the world week in, week out in the Premier League, simply did not turn up.
"Three Lions skipper Steven Gerrard admitted after our depressing opening draws against the USA and Algeria that his squad were feeling the heat and struggling to perform under the pressure.
"Then last week Alex Ferguson said Wayne Rooney's poor show in South Africa was down to the weight of expectation on him.
"The Manchester United manager clearly knows his striker the best. But I do not accept the pressure on Rooney and his England team-mates was greater than on Spain."
