Arsenal are launching a bid for Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik. The Daily Star says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to upgrade his attacking options with the club facing a struggle to make the top four this season.
Fringe pair Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski are set to be moved on next month in a bid to raise funds and free up space in the squad.
Slovakian playmaker Hamsik, who is valued at £30m, is central to Napoli boss Rafa Benitez's plans but his agent Juraj Venglos recently refused to discuss his future.
He said: "The future? I prefer not to talk about that."
