Arsenal are interested in Nice defender Nemanja Pejcinovic.
The Daily Express says Pejcinovic, who is off contract this month, is sure to attract attention from some top European sides, with clubs including Monaco reportedly keeping tabs.
However Arsene Wenger is keen to snap up the free agent, and believes he would provide great cover for first-team pairing Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.
Pejcinovic said: "My current ambitions are currently higher than what Nice can offer me today. I know Nice can improve but right now I have to think about myself and my family.
"I have always wanted to play in the Champions League or at least in some other European competition. It is a dream I have had since I was little.
"I now have the opportunity to do so."
