Arsenal are making a late move for Crewe Alexandra youngster Nick Powell.

The Sunday Mirror says the 18-year-old made a stunning impact for his club as they reached League One.

His stunning goal in the play-off final against ­Cheltenham was the ­highlight of his 16 goals last season.

And Powell has ­attracted the attention of several top-flight clubs including Manchester United who appear to be favourites for the £10million-rated front man. Chelsea are also keen.

But Powell has also been the subject of rave reports by Arsenal scouts to ­manager Arsene Wenger.
