Arsenal hero Robert Pires believes Unai Emery can clinch a deal for his former PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

With Rabiot clearly out of Thomas Tuchel's plans and out of contract in the summer, it seems inevitable that he will move away from the French capital.

While a host of clubs will be vying for his signature, Pires believes that Arsenal have an advantage in the transfer market given that Unai Emery has worked with Rabiot previously.

"Rabiot is a very good player and Arsenal should be trying their best to secure his signature before any other club does," said Pires, speaking to bwin.

"Arsenal have the advantage of Emery having already worked with him at PSG, which should hopefully sway Rabiot to join Arsenal.

"He would be worth a big fee on the transfer market so the fact he's free makes it a no brainer.

"If Emery can secure Rabiot then I think he'll be able to fill the hole that will be left by Ramsey's departure."
