Arsenal have the best and most experienced keeper in the world – Wilson

Arsenal goalkeeping legend Bob Wilson believes that in Petr Cech, the Gunners have the best and most experienced keeper in the world.

The Czech Republic international has already made an impact since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer and has made many crucial saves for the Gunners this season.

Cech's performances have certainly not been lost on club great Wilson who rates the former Blues number one up there with Juventus star Gianluigi Buffon.

"I said he would be an amazing addition," Wilson told the Arsenal Weekly podcast following Cech's display in the weekend's 3-1 win over Sunderland.

"From what I've heard from the boys in the dressing room, he is just that. He has the experience, he has the stature.

"Outside Buffon, who is still playing but I think is slightly vulnerable now, Petr Cech is the best and most experienced goalkeeper in the world at this time. We have the most experienced and best all-round goalkeeper in the world.

"Watching the Sunderland game, he made two saves in that game that were pure perfection. One came early on when Watmore got through and Petr Cech made his goal look tiny. He shot virtually straight at him.

"Early on in the second half, he made an extraordinary save. He expects the unexpected which, as a goalkeeper, you have to do. It was sheer instinct, anticipation, knowledge.

"I gather that he's an amazing guy around the dressing room and the training ground."
