Arsenal great Henry: Champions League exit the reason behind Chelsea's slump

Arsenal great and now Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry has claimed that the Champions League exit might be the reason behind Chelsea's recent dip in form.

The Blues were eliminated from Europe's premier club competition at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on March 11 when drawing 2-2 at Stamford Bridge after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off.

"I think it is just the expectation," Henry remarked on Sky Sports. "Everybody thought they were going to go and win the treble.

"Sometimes as a player when you're thinking about winning the Champions League, when you get what happens to them against Paris Saint-Germain you get a little moment where, I'm not saying that you doubt yourself but you are trying to find rhythm.

"But at the end of the day, if they win the league and they won the Capital One Cup, that is still an amazing season."

Chelsea defeated Hull City 3-2 in a lackluster performance at the KC Stadium on Sunday to retain their six-point gap at the top of the Premier League table.
