Arsenal go for Man Utd target Falcao

Arsenal are aiming to trump Manchester United for River Plate striker Radamel Falcao.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a striker with Emmanuel Adebayor's uncertain future at the Emirates and Eduardo's broken leg.

Falcao, 22, scored 38 goals in 58 games for River Plate. He has terrific pace and is able to finish with either foot.

Wenger is lining up an £8million bid but the Argentines value him closer to £12m, says The Sun.

Arsenal's interest is sure to annoy Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson.
