Arsenal to go after Jackson Martinez if they can offload strike trio

Arsenal will make a move for Jackson Martinez if they can get rid of a trio of attacking players this summer.

The Daily Mirror reports that Arsene Wenger is poised to go after the FC Porto star if the north London club can offload Lukas Podolski, Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell.

Colombia international Jackson, 28, would cost the Gunners around £25million but Wenger would need to free up some funds first in order to make an offer that Porto would accept.

While Sanogo and Campbell are seen as players for the future, neither has really kicked on as expected since their arrivals at the Emirates Stadium and could be surplus to requirements.

Germany international Podolski spent the second half of last season on loan at Inter Milan after falling behind Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and even Theo Walcott in the pecking order.
