Arsenal failed with bid for Juventus attacker Giovinco

Arsenal were among four clubs which attempted to prise Sebastian Giovinco away from Juventus in the final days of the summer market.

The attacking midfielder, who can also play as a striker, refused all offers to leave Juve, said his agent, Andrea D'Amico yesterday.

Calciomercato.it says Arsenal, Torino, Lazio and Parma all had bids for the Italy international rejected by Juve and the player.

Giovinco is no first-choice for Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri and is now inside the final year of his contract.

The midfielder can commit to a pre-contract with any foreign club from January 1.
