Arsenal face stiff competition from AS Roma for QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

The Daily Star says the Gunners looked poised to seal a deal to sign him but now Roma have emerged as rivals.

Cesar is currently on in international duty at the Confederations Cup.

He said: "If I have a good performance in this competition, many things might change for me and my future."
