Arsenal have extended the contract of Jon Toral.

The Spaniard, 20, has spent the current campaign on loan in the Championship with Brentford - scoring six goals in 34 appearances for the Bees.

Toral's current deal was set to expire in less than three months but The Independent report that Arsenal have taken up an option to tie him down for another year.

He joined the north London club from La Liga giants Barcelona in 2011 in a double deal with Hector Bellerin.
