Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny saw red in France's 2-0 World Cup playoff first-leg defeat in Ukraine.
Koscielny was sent off in the dying moments of France's 2-0 defeat to Ukraine, which leaves Didier Deschamps' men on the brink of becoming the first France side to miss a World Cup in 20 years.
Having already conceded a penalty, Koscielny was guilty of an act of pure petulance as the clock ticked down on the first leg of the crucial World Cup play-off at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.
The 28-year-old lost his cool and rose an arm to Ukraine international Oleksandr Kucher which prompted the referee to dismiss the Frenchman for violent conduct.
