Arsenal defender Gabriel: We're ready for Porto - and Pepe

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes says they'll show Porto maximum respect tonight.

The Gunners are in Portugal for the first-leg of their Champions League round 16 tie.

Gabriel said: "I'm sure it will be a difficult match, with great players quality. We know that this is a team with a long history, but we focus on ourselves. We know how tough the match will be, but we are working and we are ready."

What has Mikel Arteta told you?

"He encouraged us. We know that it is a very important match. We face a great team with a great history in the Champions League. But we are definitely ready for this match."

Is winning the Premier League and Champions League possible?

Obviously the team is growing. I think we've learned a lot in the last few years. We are at an excellent level. We can compete in any competition. The Champions League makes you feel a different feeling, but we are prepared."

Has Martin Odegaard surprised you?

“Martin is a brilliant player and in the years I spent with him he helped us a lot and we helped him too."

Will it be a great match?

"Obviously. I'm growing, working every day with my teammates. It's no coincidence that I'm here. Of course it's a dream to play in the Champions League, but I hope I can help my team."

Is Pepe a source of inspiration for you?

"We all know his history in football. He is a very respected player. He is a player with a very good history in football and I am very happy to play against him tomorrow."
