Arsenal defender David Luiz says Valencia great Pablo Aimar was the best teammate he has ever had.

The pair played together for three seasons at Benfica, and the Argentine had a profound impact on his then Brazilian teammate.

"A lot of players have helped me in my career," Luiz said at a commercial event with Arsenal. "But Pablo Aimar stood out.

"We must always be open to learning, whether it's with younger players or those with more experience.

"One day, Pablo came into my room and began to teach me how to pass from a ball in defence to one in attack.

"He taught me how to create spaces and how to hide a pass to try to get it between the lines.

"This was advice I had never had before."
