Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis held crisis talks with manager Arsene Wenger yesterday at London Colney. The Daily Star says the meeting - which is not thought to be a regular occurrence - centred around Arsenal's recent slump that has seen them lose two and draw one of their last three matches.
American owner Stan Kroenke is also believed to be becoming increasingly aware of the frustrations of Gunners fans, who were angry to see the team slip to eighth at the weekend, a massive 15 points behind leaders Chelsea.
To add to Wenger's problems, he also faces embarrassment after it emerged striker Olivier Giroud is not eligible to face Borussia Dortmund in a crunch Champions League clash tomorrow.
Giroud has not been registered to play in the Champions League group stage, since it was felt he would not recover before January from a broken leg.
But he is now back in action and scored against United on Saturday.
