Arsenal chairman Hill-Wood open to Kroenke joining board

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood says American shareholder Stan Kroenke would be a welcome addition to the board.

Kroenke's initial purchase of 10% of Arsenal's shares in April 2007 was greeted with hostility by Hill-Wood amid suggestions the billionaire was preparing to launch a full takeover.

The owner of the Colorado RapidsMLS franchise has since upped his stake to more than 12%, but Hill-Wood is now satisfied he has no intention of seizing control and would be happy to see him in the boardroom at Emirates Stadium.

"I think he could make a contribution - whether he would want to do it, I don't know," he told the Daily Star.

"I think he would be a good addition. He seems to have been very sensible.

"I think he would be quite happy to buy more shares but I think he has absolutely no intention of buying the whole thing."
