Arsenal boss Wenger: We could have beaten Chelsea with 11 players

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claimed that his side has no disciplinary issues against Chelsea and Per Mertesacker's red card at on Sunday couldn't be linked with the match earlier in the season.

Mertesacker's red card in the 1-0 defeat on Sunday was Arsenal's seventh red card against Chelsea in Premier League and added to Gabriel Paulista's sending off at Stamford Bridge in September.

On that day, Diego Costa was the antagonist as Chelsea won 2-1 and again he grabbed the headlines for being the subject of Mertesacker's tackle while scoring the only goal of the contest but Wenger does not believe the two matches are at all linked.

After the game, Wenger said: "I would not compare today's situation [with last time].

"It was not a confrontational situation like at Chelsea, it was a fact of the game and the decision of the referee. I don't think it was linked with bad behaviour or attitude."
