Arsenal boss Wenger tells shareholders not to judge summer arrivals too soon

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger urged fans not to judge his summer signings too quickly.

Wenger was speaking to shareholders at yesterday's AGM.

Referring to the summer departure of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, Wenger said: "We lost two world-class players, but do not judge too quickly the players we bought. They are top players. We had a very difficult environment at the start of the season.

"Where we will finish at the end of the season, I don't know, but the players are ready to have a go. I'm personally convinced that we have a chance to qualify again (for the Champions League). The scepticism surrounding this club is too high. Trust us, this team have quality and a fantastic attitude, this team will fight."
