Arsenal boss Wenger suggests Cech presence had psychological advantage over Chelsea

Arsene Wenger hinted that perhaps Petr Cech's influence was stronger on Chelsea than people think.

The Czech Republic goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as his new club Arsenal defeated his former club 1-0 in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday.

After the match, Wenger commented on Cech's presence by suggesting that the Blues players struggled to put the ball past their former teammate.

"He did well and maybe he had an influence on the Chelsea players as well.

"They feel to score against him they have to score the perfect goal."

Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the only goal of the contest with a sweet left-footed strike in the 24th minute as the Gunners clinched the first piece of silverware for the 2015/16 season.
