Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hopes to re-sign Newcastle United veteran Sol Campbell.
The Sunday Express says Campbell, 36, is unhappy at Newcastle and is considering a move away.
Wenger would like the ex-England man, who he has signed twice before, on a short-term contract until the summer.
Arsenal have suffered a catalogue of injuries in central defence.
And the capture of Campbell would offer Wenger cheap cover as new Newcastle boss Alan Pardew would let him leave for free.
