Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is exploring the prospect of signing Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas.
The London Evening Standard says sources close to the 32 year-old club captain say he is considering a shock departure from the Bernabeu in this transfer window amidst concerns that he will remain behind Diego Lopez in the pecking order this season under new coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Casillas cut a disgruntled figure on the bench on Monday as Real Madrid defeated Granada 1-0 at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.
Arsene Wenger has more than £70m to spend on squad reinforcements and wants to bring in another goalkeeper to compete with current no.1 Wojciech Szczesny.
