Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is convinced their victory at Bayern Munich is a watershed moment for the current team.
Wenger believes it marked a turning point in their efforts to qualify for next season's competition.
He said: "I am a great admirer of the attitude of this team, and to win such a big game on Wednesday has transformed the belief of this team.
"We have struggled to find that belief this season but we have seen here you cannot question the solidarity of the players.
"They are showing qualities we will need up to the last day of the season."
