Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is so determined to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey he has drawn up two different transfer plans for him.

The Daily Express says Arsenal could offer a swap deal including Alexandre Lacazette to tempt Atletico into doing business for Partey, it has been claimed.

The Gunners are set on signing Partey to form a new-look midfield at the Emirates.

And knowing he is resisting attempts by Atletico to open new contract talks, Arteta has been encouraged.

Goal reports Arsenal are expected to try and pursue the Ghana international whatever happens and could well look to throw Lacazette into a swap deal.

Diego Simeone is said to be a long-term admirer of the French striker, who is out of contract at Arsenal in 2022 and entering a crucial summer regarding his future.
