Arsenal boss Arteta confirms Gabriel Jesus setback; hails Tomiyasu form

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed Gabriel Jesus faces several weeks out.

The striker suffered a leg strain in their Champions League win at Sevilla.

Arteta said today: "The scan showed there is a muscle injury.

"We might lose him for a few weeks. With Gabi, I cannot give you any timeframe because he always surprises us."

Meanwhile, Arteta admits he's delighted counting on a fully fit Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Japan defender will make his 50th appearance for Arsenal against Sheffield United on Sunday.

"He was terrific in Seville and he's a player that everyone loves," added Arteta.

"You tell him to do something and he will give his life to it. He's a really important player and it's so good to have him."
