Former Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has spoken out on strong links to the German FA.
The European footballing superpower has endured two miserable World Cups in a row.
The Germans were dumped out of the group stages in both the 2018 and 2022 editions in Russia and Qatar respectively.
Mertesacker, who is in charge at Arsenal's academy, could be set to leave for the German FA.
Asked about the matter by BILD, Mertesacker responded: "No, no one spoke to me after [Oliver] Bierhoff left.
“You also have to know that I am very, very happy in London – family and professionally.
"The gap that Oliver Bierhoff leaves is very large, because of course the academy was added. Not only the national team, but also the academy plays an important role. I'll just wait and see. I enjoy my job at Arsenal and ZDF. I'm happy for now and I'll see what's in store for me."
