Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby has posed the question: Would Liverpool have to change their game plan if Christian Benteke joined the club?
The Belgian striker is being linked with a potential summer move to Anfield from Aston Villa but Molby feels it may not fall into manager Brendan Rodgers' hands.
"Liverpool's pursuit of Christian Benteke is interesting because I think it would indicate a change of style in terms of how the manager wants to play," he said in the Liverpool Echo.
"Brendan Rodgers has always talked about the need for pace and movement, having strikers who run in behind defenders.
"Benteke is more of a targetman but I actually believe in the situation we're in now we're better off having a more basic way of playing."
