Armin Veh is under consideration at Sunderland.
The Mail on Sunday says Veh has emerged a surprise contender to become Sunderland's next manager.
The 54-year-old German has vast experience of managing in the Bundesliga with the likes of Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Hamburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
He has been recommended to the club who are keen to continue the momentum of Dick Advocaat's reign and build for next season. Sunderland have spoken to David Moyes and Paul Clement among others but were rebuffed and have held initial talks with Veh.
