Stephen Appiah has emerged as a target for AC Milan. Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has urged his board to make money available for a new midfield signing following the knee injury suffered by Rino Gattuso.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says they'll seek out a new midfielder, but do not have the funds available to pay a big fee.

Appiah, formerly of Juventus, is a free agent after his release from his Fenerbahce contract and is fit and available.
