Angel Gomes delighted for James Garner over first Man Utd goal

Angel Gomes was delighted for Manchester United teammate James Garner after he scored in their friendly win at Perth Glory.

Gomes, who played 45 minutes in the win, told MUTV after the game that they had been encouraging Garner to have a go from outside the area and discussed how they would celebrate before kick off.

"We've got on to him about scoring more from outside the box," Gomes said. "We were speaking about it before the game, what we'd do if we score, he didn't celebrate, I told him he had to celebrate. He's happy and all the lads are buzzing for him."

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also said, "I told him to get on the edge of the box and score with his first touch, I think it was two so I wasn't happy with that.

"Fantastic strike, the boy can play and I think he enjoyed tonight."
