Nicolas Anelka made his West Bromwich Albion debut yesterday.

Anelka made his West Brom debut on Thursday night but he could not prevent his new team-mates from losing 2-1 to Hannover.

The Frenchman missed an early chance to put his side ahead and it was the Bundesliga outfit who scored first after 28 minutes.

Former Manchester United forward Mame Biram Diouf opened the scoring when capitalised on a poor pass by WBA keeper Ben Foster.
