Tottenham legend Darren Anderton says they must not take FA Cup opponents Leeds United lightly.

There has been a trend in recent years for Premier League outfits to rest key men in cup ­competitions - particularly against opposition from a lower level.

That is the case for Tottenham against ­Championship side Leeds in the FA Cup fourth round clash, but Anderton told the Sunday Mirror: "It would be a mistake if Tottenham did that."

Anderton has experienced playing at Elland Road in the competition and said: "It can be a very hostile place, believe me. There is a lot of passion and you need your best and most ­experienced players out there."
