Darren Anderton is backing Tottenham's bid for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
French midfielder Schneiderlin has also been targeted by Arsenal, who yesterday wrapped up the £16m signing of Southampton defender Calum Chambers.
"Arsenal are in the Champions League, but having a manager at Tottenham, that he has teamed up with before and has obviously got the best out of him, I am sure will play a big part in his decision," former Spurs star Anderton told Sky Sports.
"He [Mauricio Pochettino] knows what Schneiderlin is all about. He knows his limitations on the ball. So he does his job, he wins the ball and gives it to the flair players who can do their thing."
