Anderlecht striker Michel Vlap has spoken of taking part in Vincent Kompany's testimonial at Manchester City.
Vlap was roped into the Premier League Allstars line-up.
"Kompany wanted to show us how they work at this club. After the training, he asked if there were a few volunteers to play with the Premier League legends. They had a few cancellations," Vlap told the Algemeen Dagblad.
"I did not raise my hand on my own. I am new to Anderlecht myself. Fortunately, Philippe Sandler (his teammate at Anderlecht, on-loan from City) said that the two of us wanted it. Really bizarre. I was always an incredibly big fan of (Thierry) Henry and now I suddenly sat with him in the players bus and dressing room.
"Just look and shut up - I had intended that myself. I didn't have to play, I thought it was nice that I was there.
"But when you are on the bench in such a stadium, it starts to itch. Robin van Persie came to me just before time, asked if I wanted to come on. I thought he was nice. I never had thought that I would experience something like this. I will never forget this."
