Ancelotti beams as Real Madrid are world champions

Real Madrid defeated San Lorenzo 2-0 in Marrakesh to become the club champions of the world.Sergio Ramos scored via a header in the first half and Gareth Bale added a second half goal to earn Los Blancos their fourth trophy of 2014, to go along with the Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League and European Super Cup.

It is also Real's 22nd consecutive victory in all competitions, as they close in on Ajax's mark of 26 consecutive wins back during the 1971-72 season.

"We're really happy with this trophy. 2014 has been a fantastic and unforgettable year and we hope 2015 is the same. I'm very happy to have arrived at this club and won the Champions League in the first year, and now the Club World Cup; it's really special," said Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.

"The final was difficult, particularly in the first half. The key to it all is that the players have really taken on board that we need balance at the back and up front."
