Milan president Silvio Berlusconi believes Ancelotti's players are overstretched and should be "sleeping rather training".
Ancelotti added: "The president has referred to the fact that when playing every three days, it is more important to focus on recovery than actual training, which is what we're doing.
"We always evaluate the condition of the players after games, following their diet and rest. It is a job we've been doing for many years to try to get the best recovery from them."
