Mexican powerhouse Club America are chasing Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre.

The wages on offer at America of around £50,000 a week are almost double those being discussed with French clubs Lyon and Bordeaux, says the People.

Silvestre is believed to have had a bust-up with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson last season, but Fergie still wants £4m for him.
