The striker admitted: "Living in the city you can't fail to notice what has happened. I am a massive fan myself. The impact it has had on my friends, I don't think I have experienced anything like it. Living it now has been amazing.
"We have to make sure we stay positive and use it to our advantage and kick-start our season.
"I didn't ask to leave in so many words when Sam was here. But there is no place for me where I am not wanted and the manager knew that. I have always wanted to play for this club and stay here.
"If I was given the chance to play, there is no way I would leave this club."
