Palermo goalkeeper Marco Amelia has called on Italy coach Marcello Lippi to take a close look at his teammates, Moris Carrozzieri and Cesare Bovo.

"I think Carrozzieri is an excellent defender and so is Bovo," the former Livorno No 1 declared. "Our central defensive partnership is well balanced and they have different qualities.

"One is more physical and the other more technical and capable of anticipating and reading the game.

"I think that with time Lippi will notice them if they can manage to keep this form up."
