Brazilian midfielder Amaral is on the verge of completing a return to Perth Glory. The 36-year old former Fiorentina man, who spent much of last season with the Glory, has been on trial in recent weeks and looks set to be added to Dave Mitchell's squad.

"He's looking good, so we are looking to get some paperwork done for him and there is a good chance that could be done in the next few days," Mitchell said.

"We have had him tested fitness wise, and his hamstring tested as well, and things are looking okay. If we go ahead and sign him he will be another addition to that midfield.

"You want to create a situation where people are fighting for places. In the next couple of days he could be available, if that is rushed through - possibly (he could be available for Melbourne)."
